My Research Project - ongoing

I am doing ongoing research into the "The Other Pilgims' Way" between Winchester and Canterbury. I argue the relative population sizes meant few travellers would directly between the two as is most popularly promoted. Rather, the largest group - London-based travellers - would have made 2 separate pilgimages to/from the respective cathedals The population sizes, topography and churches indicate that the 'ways' would have therefore followed the busiest, safest and most level routes - London-Winchester and London-Canterbury.
